Artist Statement
Fanciful Animals are the unique ceramic creations of artist Margaret Southwell. The inspiration for them comes from 18th and 19th century ceramic figures of England, Japan, and China.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, hand modeled and painted. What endears them to collectors is their colorful, whimsical charm and happiness, the essence of Margaret herself.
